With a sound rooted in the Afro-Latin diaspora, Floyd Vader’s style blends soulful, deep, and melodic influences drawn from a family rich with musicians and dancers. Raised with influences from West African dance traditions (Mali, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal) and immersed in Hip-Hop/B-boying and Capoeira culture.
Released on labels including Catch the Ghost, Ocha Records, Yoruba Records, Merecumbe Recordings, Bayacou Records, and Lost in the Rhythm, plus his own imprint Deep Like. As a DJ, he’s played Soul In The Horn (NYC), Nowadays (NYC), Jupiter Disco (NYC), Movement Festival (Detroit), and Eighteenth St. Lounge (D.C.).
